“It is not difficult to give up doing drugs. It’s hard not to start taking them again”- these words was a beginning of the round table discussion on “Resocialization and social adaptation, problems and solutions”.
The event took place on October 23, 2015 on the basis of the sanatorium “Gorky”. Representatives of various structures, somehow connected with the solution of the problem of alcoholism and drug addiction, gathered here.
Society dictates the rules to former addicts. Even if a person is cured, this brand won’t allow you to get a good job or get the desired education. That is why those who are engaged in prevention, treatment, rehabilitation of alcoholics and drug addicts are very puzzled by the problem that their work is in vain after a person returns to the usual unfavorable way of life. Representatives of the authorities are also puzzled by this issue. The round table discussion was attended by Deputy of the city Duma, founder of the charity fund “Dobrota” Alexander Zhukov.
Deputy chief doctor on epidemiology of Voronezh regional clinical center for the prevention and control of AIDS, Tamara N. Sitnik presented the latest information on HIV in the Voronezh region. Currently, our region is in one of the last places in Russia in terms of the number of infected people. This means a very small percentage of the sick among the total number of citizens. At the same time, in 2014 and 2015 there was a sharp increase in new HIV patients. Doctors associate this with the spread of a new kind of drugs – spice. The main difficulty is in diagnosing the disease. Tamara Nikolaevna also noted that patients need to be more responsible for their treatment. There are many ways to treat drug addiction and alcoholism, but if the doctor prescribes medicals, there can’t be any cessation.
Psychologist and teacher Natalia Astratova revealed the fact that the idea of addiction is obsolete. The addicted youth aren’t misfits, they just fall in a different environment. Our education system should provide adolescents with a way to adapt to the current reality. There should be developed adequate prevention measures that take into account the age and modernity. Prevention of drug addiction should be carried out in not only with children, but with their parents, who should know more about drugs and possible consequences.
The rector of the Voronezh Institute of General Psychology and business Psychology Vyacheslav Simonov agreed with Natalia Viktorovna. He noted that drug addiction treatment is only 10% of the treatment. Rehabilitation and socialization play the biggest role.
Peter Petrovich Stroganov, head of the Department of medico-social rehabilitation on the basis of hospital №18 expressed the view that children need to know what is good and evil. They should go in for sports, creativity, leadership, education. It is not necessary to tell students about what substances are and what they are dangerous. It only adds interest in them. He also drew attention to the fact that the rejection of drugs or alcohol is not the goal of treatment. The goal is to create a happy person and return him to the normal life in the society. It is important to solve problems with education, housing, work, social status for rehabilitants. To solve these and many other problems, Pyotr Petrovich offered the idea of creating a single methodological center that combines the efforts of all organizations involved in solving the problem of drug addiction and alcoholism.
The chief of educational department on work with convicted, the Colonel of internal service, Konstantin Borisovich Vladimirov showed the statistics. Almost 100% of convicted juveniles had committed a crime in a condition of alcoholic or narcotic intoxication. And, as you know, teenagers are adjudge only for committing serious crimes serious.
M. P. Saenko, the principal of football Academy, presented her idea of efficient resocialization. The point is to engage rehabilitants to play football during the football season. In case of successful completion of the season, they may have a chance to be a couch or to continue to play. This project takes place in the sport center “Energy” and has existed for one year, but shows good results.
All the participants of the round table discussion agreed that it is necessary and vital to unit in order to fight such disasters as drug and alcohol addictions. Only together there is a way out, no one is a past help!
