Neighborhood Clean-Up

Volunteers of school №1 picked deadwood and litter nearby the forest.

The representatives of the Charitable Fund and volunteers of school №1 hold the clean-up which is called “Healthy lungs of Russia and Europe”.

Since the school territory guys ennobled for a long time: according to a long tradition to clean up the space around the complex out in the spring and autumn, Saturday morning went to the forest, which starts just a few hundred meters from the school.

Pupils decided to clean up the nearest forest, soon after the school territory had been brought back up to the stuff. It has already become a tradition to pick litter every Saturday in spring and autumn.

The place has been no randomly chosen. This very place is much littered. There. All the locals take strolls near there. Some of them walk, others go picnicking and as a result the forest gets dirty.

− It is beyond my understanding when people litter in the place where they live, − says a volunteer picking up a plastic bottle.
Hardly ever the garbage sacks have been given to pupils as they immediately start to pick up litter: boys rake paths, girls collect deadwood, sheets, plastic bottles and some other rubbish.

A. Zhukov takes part in the event with his daughter Sasha. Team work did what it was expected. The forest is beaming with cleanliness. The problem is how long the forest will be clean. In order to save the forest teenagers make posters with slogans such as “Arson is a crime!”, “Clean forest is a clean city!”, and “Forest is a treasure”.

Pupils were “voluntold” to take part in the clean-ups few years ago, but now they are eager to change the world for the better.
