It is how single mothers and their kids have found shelter and help. There have started an unusual project in Voronezh, which is
devoted to support women in a difficult life situation. The fund “Dobrota” has been helping single mothers and their children since
the end of 2017.
The importance of the project can’t be underestimated as it was supported with the presidential grant of the Russian Federation. Also, Voronezh Metropolit and Leskinskiy Sergiy have supported the organization of the project.
The fund “Dobrota” gives single mothers both moral and moneyed assistance. More than that, the project of social adaptation ensures an integrated approach. The main idea of the project is to provide single mothers with counselling as it is the first step of the ladder to right and decent life.
However, material support is also important. Firstly, the fund helps single mothers to create true comfort. In order to achieve it, there was founded so called “Mother’s Home”, where women and their kids can find shelter. This program was started in 2004 with the help of the fund.
Now, the shelter is a cozy and modern two-story building, which perfectly suits single mothers and their kids. The rooms are well-furnished: there are beds, wardrobes, bedside tables, commodes, carpets and playpens.
There are sofas and book shelves in common rooms. The furniture is often replenished.
– All this furniture is for women and their kids, so we have carefully chosen the design of all things. The furniture is environmentally friendly and safe for children. Everything we do is from the bottom of the heart, we want to make their life a bit happier and easier.
There is a well-furnished kitchen in the shelter, where there is everything that people need.
More than that, the fund “Dobrota” cooperates with some clothing stores, which provide women and their children with clothes.
It is also worth mentioning that there will be sewing classes where women will learn how to sew and make clothes, – modern equipment and fabrics have already purchased.
