The representatives of the fund “Kindness” and volunteers with the concert program visited the nursing home on the 5th of April.
There is hustle and bustle in the nursing home. They say there is going to be a concert and everybody should go to the concert hall while the volunteers of the fund are searching for grannies who can knit.
There reason why they need ones who can knit is just because inmates of the orphanage asked to knit socks and mittens for them. They also circled on the paper their feet and hands. A. Zhukov gives samples and knitting kits to the old ladies. One of the grannies, A.S. Dubovay, says that it is necessary to use red threads because they give more warmth.
The fund “Kindness” has been helping the nursing home since 2000. Everybody remembers those times. There was lack of financing.
The head of the nursing home told us that he asked for help in 2000.They asked for underwear. The fund did their best, lots of people gave support.
Since those times the fund and the nursing home have been true friends, the representatives of the fund yearly visit them on The 9th of May.
The staff of the fund brought threads and knitting kits, summer clothes, cookies and sweets. The president of the Arabic-Russian Center in Voronezh Kafarna Shaker Husane took part in it.
Nowadays, there are 210 people who live in the nursing home. 150 of them are bed-patients, 30 are wheel-chaired. So, there were empty places at the concert hall, not all could come who wanted.
“Hearts of Gold” are the volunteers of school №1 who performed at the scene. They wore traditional folk costumes and lively danced. The audience burst out applauding.
The time flies and it is time to help others. As usual the fund and the volunteers are invited to come as soon as possible.
