The project “Social adaptation of single mothers” was started by the Charity Foundation “Kindness” and its founder Alexander Zhukov a year ago in Voronezh.
Thanks to the efforts of the Foundation for the social adaptation of single mothers, a grant was awarded to the President of the Russian Federation aimed at the development of civil society and provided by the Foundation for Presidential Grants.
On November 23, on the eve of Mother’s Day, which is celebrated on the last Sunday of November, the results of the final stage of the project were summed up.
– The project shows that there is still a lot of beauty in this world, you just need to strive for it, – said the head of the Charity Foundation “Kindness” Alexander Zhukov.
The ceremony of awarding the most active participants of the project was held in the classroom of the shelter for mothers in difficult life situations, which is located at the temple in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “In Search of the Perishing”. Everyone received diplomas and gifts from the Kindness Foundation.
– I am overwhelmed with gratitude! Thanks to everyone who conceived and implemented this project. It gave me a lot: as soon as I received sewing skills, there was a valuable opportunity to provide help, – to sew something for people who are in need, – says Olga Gribkova, a project participant.
– As John Chrysostom used to say, “We only have what we give.” Thanks a lot to those who took part in this project, ”says Alexey Spitsyn, rector of the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God,“ In Search of the Perishing, ”head of the diocesan department for the protection of childhood and motherhood.
After the ceremony, the organizers and participants appreciated the repairs in the mother’s rooms and the exhibition of textiles made during the project.
– The third stage of the project was the most fruitful: there were lots of people who wanted to learn how to sew. Everyone has achieved excellent results! I am very pleased with my students! In just a few months, they have learned to sew bedding, nightgowns, shirts, sarafans and jackets, ”says technologist Elena Ermolaeva.
Then they all went to boarding school number 1 on the street Ostrogozhskaya, 57, to give his pupils gifts made by Mothers and the Kindness Foundation. The event took place in the assembly hall of the school.
– How great it is when they come to us on weekdays. Today, our guest are the charity foundation “Kindness”, – said the director of the boarding school, Viktor Ilyin.
Alexander Zhukov gave thank – you letters and gifts to the staff of the boarding school №1. The students received sets of bed linen sewn by the participants of the project “Social adaptation of single mothers”, sports equipment, hygiene items and sweets from the Kindness foundation.
– Those who sewed this bed linen needed support some time ago. They learned to sew, and came here to help others who are in need. This is very touching! – said Alexander Zhukov.
The pupils also prepared gifts for the participants and organizers of the project: the children made original Christmas trees and voluminous postcards with their own hands.
After the official part, a tour of the boarding school was organized, where all the conditions were created in order to develop children’s self-service skills and to help them discover their creative potential.
