High school students of Kominternovsky district took part in competition.
On April 12, Voronezh hosted the final of the “Spring Queens” contest, where the smartest, the most talented, creative and bright pupils of the schools of the Kominternovsky district were awarded. The prizes for the girls were presented by the founder of the charity foundation “Dobrota”.
First “Queen of Spring” was chosen near about 20 years ago in Voronezh. Alexander Zhukov, the head of the charity foundation “Dobrota”, became the initiator of the competition for Voronezh high school students. Over the years, these spring competitions have become one of the most prestigious and expected among Voronezh students.
“I think this is the first great spring holiday for high school students, for graduates, it raises the spirits before the upcoming exams, sums up a long-life span and gives new opportunities,” said Alexander Zhukov.
“Queen of Spring” is considered as a prestigious competition as the participants are appreciated not only for their beauty, but also for their activity, knowledge, creativity, dedication and, of course, the ability to work in a team. Therefore, to get to the finals and become the brightest student, girls have to pass an internal selection first. This is not easy, because every year the competition is growing. But even after that, the schoolgirls, who were recognized as the best in their schools, do not have to relax, because the most crucial stage ahead is the final.
“Girls learn to sing, dance, learn etiquette, get acquainted with the history of their native city … The competition gives children opportunities, unites students, parents, teachers, and this is, of course, a great event,” said Elena Alekseeva, director of the gymnasium.
– We appreciate not only beauty, first of all, creative potential. After all, many participants present themselves in a good way, one can even say, they are future artists, ” – added Gennady Belousov, jury member, honored cultural worker of Russia.
In the finale of 2019, Voronezh schoolgirls surprised the jury with dances, songs and miniatures of various genres and trends. In addition, the girls spoke about their perception of their native city, participated in a blitz survey on the theme “Year of Theater in Russia” and even demonstrated culinary skills. The contestants admitted that they were very worried before the performance.
– We have been training hard for every month, rehearsing, even twice a day – I have a very cool team. It was difficult, but it was worth it! From the 8th grade I have been dreaming of being on the stage in the finals of this competition, – Elizaveta Makhina, a pupil of the 11th grade of the gymnasium “Educational complex №1” shared her impressions.
As a result, the dream of Elizabeth Makhina came true. She was chosen to be “Queen of Spring” in 2019. The girl received the main prize – a trip for two to St. Petersburg, as well as many other gifts from the Dobrota Foundation. The winner was awarded by Alexander Zhukov personally. Other girls also received flowers and prizes.
However, according to the participants and the organizers, the main thing in this competition is not rewards and titles, but the spirit of friendship and unity.
– Such events bring children together, because schools participate, girls make friends … And who knows, maybe this friendship will last forever, and people will remember this very day when they met and when it all started, – said Alexander Zhukov, founder of the charity foundation “Dobrota”.
